Cowboys defense backs up Ezekiel Elliott with big performance

By BOB KREISBERG Dallas Cowboys defensive back Aqib Talib has become one of the NFL’s best cornerbacks, leading the league in interceptions and forcing five fumbles in 2017.

Talib, who turns 33 on Oct. 4, was named to his second Pro Bowl this year after a strong season in which he recorded three interceptions, one forced fumble and forced three fumbles.

He was also named the NFL Defensive Player of the Week for the second time in his career after he intercepted a Tom Brady pass in Week 7 and returned it for a touchdown in Week 16.

Talib’s numbers this year have been better than he did a year ago when he was still a rookie.

He recorded 13 interceptions last season and had 13 in 2017, his first year in the league.
