Android TV has finally arrived in the UK, and it’s a bit of a surprise that there’s not a whole lot to talk about.
The biggest change for 2018 is that we now get a full screen option on our TV, which is a major boon.
We also get support for the first time for the new Chromecast-powered Android TV boxes, which will give users a lot of choice when it comes to casting apps on the big screen.
But the main difference between 2018 and 2017 is the addition of the Google Home Mini, which you can connect to your TV to control it.
We’re expecting this to become standard in the next few years, but if you’ve been waiting for that, the Google Now feature is here to help you get going.
The new Home Mini is one of the most exciting things in the new Android TV, and we’re sure you’re already excited to try it out.
So how does it compare to the big boys?
If you’re a fan of the big Android TV box (or you just want to get your hands on one), we’d suggest picking one up now.
It’ll cost you £149, but you’ll be able to use Google’s Home app to control the device from a remote.
That’s right, you can control the Chromecast to the TV via your phone.
We’d also like to highlight that the Google TV Mini will also work with Android TV’s free Chromecast apps, so if you’re looking to stream your favourite shows and movies to your Android TV set up, you’ll have a lot to love.
