An Australian pub and a popular bar have all been acquired by a Melbourne developer, and the owners have launched a new concept for the venue.
The clubhouse concept, which was announced on Wednesday, is based on the Australian classic pub, Club House, which opened in Melbourne in 1975.
Club House has become a fixture in Melbourne and is often considered to be the first modern bar in Australia.
Clubhouse is located in the Melbourne’s Chinatown and was originally the first pub in the city to offer a pub menu, as well as beer and wine.
The concept has become synonymous with Melbourne, with the venue now being called the “premium bar” of the city, according to its website.
Its owner, David Pritchard, said the clubhouse would be a modern pub with a “club vibe”.
“Clubhouse will have a modern bar that will reflect the contemporary Melbourne environment,” he said.
“Our vision is to create a unique and exciting pub experience.”
Pritchard said he wanted to create an environment that would attract people from across the city and create a sense of community.
“We want to create this vibrant and dynamic environment that’s open to all and create an experience for our guests to be part of,” he added.
“When you’re at Clubhouse it’s the only place you’re going to find that’s a genuine place where you’re welcome, that’s not a club and that you can relax and enjoy the music and the food.”
